Dri-Prime pumps are used in a water supply application at a Southeast energy generating plant.
The plant
uses a man-made
lake to supply
cooling water
for plant
operations.
Due to
the extreme
drought in the
southeast in the
last few years,
water levels in
the lake are
dangerously low.
Godwin
Dri-Prime high
head pumps are
utilized to move
water from a
nearby river at
a rate of 44,900
gpm to the lake
to supplement
the water
supply.
Long
suction lines,
heads to 230
feet, and a
160-foot
elevation change
were
characteristic
of this set up.
Godwin
technicians
fused 21,000
feet of 18-inch
HDPE on site and
installed the
complete
project.
