Godwin Pumps Purchases Tampa Property for Rental Office

TAMPA, FLORIDA (May 26, 2004) – Godwin Pumps, Bridgeport, NJ-based manufacturer of portable rental pumps worldwide, purchased a property this week from Tampa Electric at 3007 North 50th Street and plans to open a new rental office here on Monday, June 7, 2004.

“With the purchase of this property – our 19th U.S. rental location – comes our long awaited expansion into Florida,” said Godwin Pumps President John Michael Paz. “While we are currently very focused on our global expansion, the Florida market will become one of our major divisions as we move our domestic growth forward.

“Operating the last two years in south Florida without a full scale facility has been an eye opener,” said Paz. “We have 50 Dri-Prime pumps on rent already and are excited that the customer base seems wanting for great pumps and great service provided with a sense of urgency.”

Paz has plans for new construction on the site which includes 5,000 square feet of office space for sales and administrative support, plus 10,000 square feet for parts and service.

Located on over 3 acres, the new Godwin Pumps rental facility will include an equipment yard, service shop, parts center, and offices for 30 employees serving south Florida. The company provides rental, sales and service of automatic self-priming Dri-Prime pumps for any type and size pumping application, including wellpoint dewatering systems.

Godwin Pumps personnel are available around the clock to address all pumping and related equipment needs.

“We provide emergency pump rentals, service and repairs, technical support, engineering design and application assistance,” said Southeast Manager Bud Nichols. Nichols has more than 13 years of experience in the pump rental industry specializing in rental, sales and service of portable and permanent pumping systems.

In addition to a large pump fleet, Godwin Pumps offers all the accessories to complete the job including pipe to 30 inches, hose and fittings. Also available for rent are generators, compressors and light towers.
