Godwin Dri-Prime® Pumps Selected for WEFTEC Operations Maintenance Challenge 2005-2008

BRIDGEPORT, NJ – Godwin Pumps, worldwide manufacturer and supplier of the Dri-Prime automatic self-priming pump, announced today that its Dri-Prime pump has been selected for use in the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) Operations Maintenance Challenge beginning in 2005.

Teams of municipal operators from around the country participate in the WEFTEC Operations Challenge each year. The challenge competition, divided into five categories – collection systems, laboratory, process control, maintenance and safety, runs for four consecutive years with awards and recognition going to the best teams in each event annually. A trophy is awarded to the team demonstrating the best combination of precision, speed and safety.

On Monday, October 4, 2004, a team of four Godwin Pumps employees performed the 2005 Operations Maintenance Challenge utilizing the Godwin Dri-Prime pump at the 77th annual WEFTEC in New Orleans, LA.

After the preview of the 2005 maintenance challenge, over 30 teams of municipal operators planning to compete next year picked up the guidelines and rules for the 2005 – 2008 maintenance challenge utilizing Godwin Dri-Prime pumps at the show in the Godwin Pumps booth.
