Godwin Pumps Donates to the American Red Cross
BRIDGEPORT, NJ USA Through a matching gift program, Bridgeport, NJ-based Godwin Pumps and its employees recently made a donation to the American Red Cross (ARC) Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The Executive Director of the Gloucester County chapter of ARC, Laura Steinmetz, presented Godwin Pumps' President John Michael Paz with a Certificate of Acknowledgement at Godwin's Bridgeport, NJ home office.
Paz praised the efforts of Godwin people throughout the company for their impressive response to Hurricane Katrina.
"In the nearly 30 years I've been in business, I have witnessed repeated examples of dedication and generosity by the people at Godwin Pumps who work for me around the country," said Paz. "Hurricane Katrina is no exception. In addition to extraordinary job-related response, we had an outpouring of donations from Godwin employees, matched by the company, to aid in the American Red Cross's hurricane relief efforts in New Orleans."
From Texas to New Jersey to the state of Washington, people at Godwin's 22 U.S. locations worked together to supply pumps, generators, and light towers to the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina hit. At the same time, Godwin employees continued to support the demands of existing customers throughout North America according to Paz. During the days following the devastation, several Godwin employees traveled to New Orleans to work on-site setting up pumping systems and servicing any equipment in need of repair.
Immediately after Hurricane Katrina, Godwin employees rallied together to collect supplies of water to send to New Orleans. Then once the initial demands of the emergency were addressed, Godwin and its employees focused on making a donation. Dollars donated by Godwin Pumps and its employees to the American Red Cross will provide for the ongoing relief efforts according to Laura Steinmetz, Executive Director, American Red Cross, Gloucester County, NJ Division.
"Through these efforts, Godwin Pumps and the American Red Cross will help provide tangible and meaningful aid to those people impacted by Hurricane Katrina as people begin to rebuild their homes, their communities, and their lives," said Paz.
