Painter - Helena, MT
- General Description
Correctly and safely prepare and paint industrial pumps and accessory equipment to insuring proper paint adhesion and overall appearance.
II. Specific Responsibilities
- Move equipment in and out of preparation and paint booth areas using a forklift.
- Safely and accurately prepare paint to ensure proper adhesion.
- Inspect equipment to ensure surfaces have been properly prepared prior to applying electrostatic paint.
- Properly store or dispose of unused paints or solvents.
III. Job Requirements
- Knowledge
- General operation of hand tools (grinder, power washer, sander instruction provided)
- Extensive knowledge of electrostatic paint application
- Paint mixing, solvents, and corrosion control
B. Abilities & Skills
- Ability to properly operate electrostatic paint application equipment
- General knowledge of safety equipment including respirators
- Ability to maintain paint equipment
- General knowledge of paint booth equipment and proper housekeeping procedures
- Capable of safely operating basic hand tools
- Basic mechanical ability
- Forklift operation
C. Physical Efforts
1. Safely standing eight (8) hours per day
- 2. Safely using full range of physical motions associated with general labor work continually throughout the 8 hours to include walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and climbing
- 3. Safely work using breathing apparatus and protective suit
- Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and various materials.
E. Licenses/Specialized Training
- Forklift certification
- F. Hours
- Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- One Saturday per month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. May be scheduled more frequently based on workload.
