General Description
Utilize individual
technical, communication,
mechanical and product
skills to manage the
operations of a branch
consisting of equipment
delivery and pick-up, fleet
equipment repair and
services, parts inventory
and shipping and receiving.
Oversee the activities of
the Dispatcher to ensure all
aspects associated with the
delivery and pick-up of
Godwin pumping equipment are
conducted in a time-and
cost-efficient manner.
Ensure all Department
of Transportation (DOT)
regulations are being
followed in terms of hours
of service and logbook
documentation.
Monitor quality of
rental paperwork (rental
contracts, pick-up slips) as
completed by drivers.
Oversee the activities of
shop/field mechanics to
ensure Godwin equipment is
being properly maintained on
a timely basis and meeting
customer needs for repair
and service.
Serve as a quality
control check for all
repaired Godwin equipment
prior to delivery on next
rental.
Conduct an initial
evaluation of equipment
returning from rental to
assess the potential for
chargeable damages.
Report findings to
the appropriate sales
engineer or manager and
provide labor estimates as
needed.
Oversee the repair
and service of all Godwin
delivery, service and sales
vehicles.
Field service calls
from customers concerning
equipment-related problems.
Prepare weekly fleet
mileage report for
submission to home office
and ensure repair to
equipment is properly
documented. Oversee housekeeping
and general condition of the
shop area with an eye toward
safety and efficiency and
ensure all pumping equipment
and accessories are properly
stored.
Develop and maintain
an off-hour on-call list of
mechanics to respond to
emergency equipment repair
needs.
Job Requirements
- Strong knowledge of diesel, gas and electrical motors
- Strong
knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Strong management skills to include supervisory responsibility
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to comprehend, think effectively and react appropriately under pressure
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds frequently on a daily basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and squat
- Ability to push and pull
- Ability to twist and reach over head
- Ability to grasp and squeeze
Environmental Conditions
- Mostly shop oriented, but may be intermittently exposed to job site conditions and hazards, i.e., petrochemical refineries, mill, mines and quarries, construction sites, industrial/power plants, waste water treatment plants, etc.
- Intermittent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions and job site noise.
Licenses/Specialized Training
- Five plus years experience in related field of equipment repair and servicing preferably in construction or industry.
- Commercial drivers license preferred.
- Forklift
certification
preferred.
